The Killer

Rain soaked streets, dark back alleys and a woman stalked by a monster.

Big, old crumbling mansions set back far from the road, housing a deformed creature.

Abandoned warehouses holding a terrible, ancient secret.

A deep, dark forest where a creature moves within.

The evil scientist with the world’s fate in his hands.

An escaped patient from the asylum.

The man with his finger on the trigger for the H-bomb.

He vowed he would not be a cliché. Too many times he had read the books where the killer was a variation on the above list. Of course, there were a lot more, including the supernatural and unreal types like vampires and werewolves, but he couldn’t waste any more time. He had someone to kill and he’d better get moving.

He put away the book, stood up and reached for the object on the table.

The hook would perfectly replace his missing left hand.
