As an extra treat, Sarah has also allowed me to post her rough sketches. Here’s a glimpse at the early stages of her designs, as well as a couple of unused concepts for the “Out for Blood” illustration.
Thank you one final time, Sarah, and thanks again to everyone who entered. Winners, please e-mail me with your mailing addresses so I can send you the original art. Good night, everyone.
P.S. I’m still reading and posting the entries for the Night Falls mini-contest. Great stuff there. I hope to announce the winner by the end of this week.
Oh, the illustration is great! Sarah, thanks so much!!!!

Must be quite the thing to see something you have written drawn from the unique perspective of one person. I guess that is the intrinsic beauty of all literature, we all read a different story and create a different world. Without the reader it absolutely is just dried ink on a page. Lovely.

Thank you so much, Sarah. The Technopolymorph is an impressive creature indeed and a little more organic than in my imaginings. I am very happy with your take on its emergence from the sea and I’ll be delighted to have this adorn my living room wall.
